What is the PersonalDNA Facebook App?
PersonalDNA is a personality test that allows you to share your results on Facebook. The test is done on a separate site and you will need to create an account in order to add your results to your Facebook. Once saved, the results appear in one of two forms of colourful graphs that can be examined by moving the cursor over each colour.
PersonalDNA Pros
- Analyzes many different character traits.
- Pretty colours.
PersonalDNA Cons
- Graphs are incoherent, almost illegible.
- Only useless information appears in profile.
- Numerous oxymorons (at least with my own results).
- An account on another site is necessary, though no email address is required.

Language Exchange Facebook App
What is the Language Exchange Facebook App?
The goal of the Language Exchange app is to help you learn a foreign language by connecting you with people you can learn with. When you start out, you enter which language you want to learn, how much time you want to spend on learning, and what you current proficiency level is. Language Exchange then connects you with someone in order to teach you the language. Ideally, that other person can teach you another language in return. For example, you want to learn Spanish and someone from Mexico wants to learn English. That would be an awesome match. However, right now the demand for Spanish learners exceed the supply for Spanish teachers.
Which leads me to Language Exchange’s next feature. The app provides a list of the supply and demand for different languages. That way you can see where your services are needed and where you could probably find someone to teach you a language.
After you’ve found a partner, you all get together either in person or by phone/Skype to practice your speaking skills. Pretty cool.
Language Exchange Pros
- Learn a foreign language for free!
- Connect with someone you can SPEAK with. Speaking a foreign language is the best way to learn it.
- Lots of languages to choose from
Language Exchange Cons
- Not many users. There aren’t enough people using it, so it limits the language you can learn. There also seems to be a dearth of people to TEACH languages.

iRead Facebook Application
What is the iRead Facebook Application?
iRead allows you to display what you’ve read, what you are reading, what’s on your reading list on your Facebook Profile. Additionally, you can write book reviews and rate the books on your list. iRead’s best feature is that it matches you up with people with similar reading tastes. You can find out even more books to read and perhaps start a book swap.
Another nice feature is that there’s a board that lists who the top reviewers are as well as what the top books are amongst iRead users.
You can search for books to add to your list by ISBN, title, or author. You can also import your Amazon wishlist to iRead.
iRead Pros
- Takes full advantage of Facebook’s social network. iRead is the complete deal. Not only does it allow you to see what others are reading, it matches you up with people who read the same kind of stuff as you. In a word: awesome.
- Well integrated. You don’t have to go to some site off of Facebook to use it.
- Over 1 million books to choose from
- No kinks! Hoo-ray!
iRead Cons
- Try as I might, I can’t find anything missing or wrong with this app. It’s that good.
iRead is as close to perfection as a Facebook app can get. The developers not only understand the power of Facebook’s social network, they also know how to harness it. This is definitely going to be one of Facebook’s more popular applications.

Quizes Facebook Application
What is the Quizes Facebook Application?
The Quizes Application allows you to create multiple choice quizzes about yourself for your friends to take. The quizzes are posted on your profile page and your friends can click on a link to take it.
Creating a quiz is pretty easy. First, you give your quiz a name. Second, you start creating your questions. You write the question with different answers. You select which answer is the correct one. Finally, you can create messages for your friends depending on how well they do. For example, if they get less than 50% you can tell your friend “You Suck!”
The Quizes app also includes an interview feature that you can install. Basically, it asks you random questions like “Why do you read Playboy?” The question and answer are then posted on your profile page.
Quizes Pros
- Quizes are super easy to make.
- The interview feature is easy to use
Quizes Cons
- People have been reporting bugs with this app that include questions not showing up or the app not showing up in the profile.

Donations are done securely through Project Agape. You don’t have to worry about your money going to some con artist who says he’s raising money on behalf of baby seals. When someone starts a cause, they must choose from a selection of registered non-profit organizations where they want their money to go.
Causes Pros
- Easy to start a cause
- The selection of non profit organizations is massive- 1.5 million

Causes Cons
- There are several glitches. Right after I installed it, I got an error message.
As soon as the developers iron out the glitches, this should be a super application.
