I was really impressed this app. It was fun to answer the questions and the results were accurate. In this age where making social connections is the key to success, the Hookup is definitely a useful tool.

What is the Flirtable Facebook Application?

Flirtable allows Facebook users to find people to flirt with online and off. The app works a lot like Hot or Not. You type in the age and sex of the type of person you’re looking for and Flirtable will present you with a stream of photos of potential flirters. You can either skip the person if you’re not interested or “Flirt” with them if you are interested.

If the person you flirt with flirts back (meaning they’re interested too) you can start sending messages to them or sending them gifts. Flirtable is the non-confrontational way to tell someone you’re interested in them.

An interesting feature in Flirtable is that they rank people on their flirtability. You start out as a “Starter Flirt.” As you flirt more and more, your ranking goes up. The app produces a list of the “Most Flirtable” Facebook users.

• I noticed that even though I put was looking for women, males still showed up. The same thing happened when I searched for males; women would still show up. I’m not sure if that’s a glitch with the app or people trying to be funny.
• Other than that, this was a stellar app.

Sex Appeal was created by the team at Pollection. (Check out their team blog for the latest news and developments on their Facebook Applications.) What Sex appeal does is allow you to vote who among your Facebook friends are the most attractive and sexy. When you enter the app page (which, by the way, is very nicely integrated into Facebook) you’ll see an appellate with four of your friends’ names and their pictures flashing though a slideshow. You pick which of those four friends are the sexiest. You can choose to have only female or male contenders or you can vote among both male and female. If several of your Facebook friends use the app, you can get a good idea among all your friends who everyone thinks is the sexiest. Your sexy factor will be displayed on your profile page for all the Facebook world to see.

A nice feature is the “Top 10 Sexies” page which displays who has been voted the most sexy on Facebook and in your particular networks. This app was fun to use. It reminded me a lot like Hot or Not, but limited to just your Facebook friends.

What is the Introduce Me Facebook Application?

Introduce Me allows you to introduce friends among your Facebook friends to each other. Let’s say you know two people among your Facebook friends who would be a perfect couple, all you need to do is match them up in the app, and a message will be sent to both of them that you want them to meet. I can also see this being useful for just networking. Saying you have one friend who is web designer and you have another who runs an online business, you can introduce them and help your friends out. Pretty nifty.

What is the Social Flowers Facebook Application?

Social Flowers allows you to send real fresh flowers to members in your social network. Here’s how it works: The sender chooses a recipient from their friends list - they then select and pay for the flowers at the Social Flowers website. The sender does not enter the delivery address during checkout, this will be provided by the recipient. The recipient receives an email letting them know that fresh flowers have been purchased for them and they are asked to provide an address for the delivery of the flowers. The sender will never have access to the recipient\’s delivery address and the recipient will never have access to the sender\’s address or payment information.

PersonalDNA is a personality test that allows you to share your results on Facebook. The test is done on a separate site and you will need to create an account in order to add your results to your Facebook. Once saved, the results appear in one of two forms of colourful graphs that can be examined by moving the cursor over each colour.

• Analyzes many different character traits.
• Pretty colours.

PersonalDNA Cons

• Graphs are incoherent, almost illegible.
• Only useless information appears in profile.
• Numerous oxymorons (at least with my own results).
• An account on another site is necessary, though no email address is required.

My Personality creates a personality profile to be displayed in your Facebook Profile. When you first install the app, you fill out a simple psychological personality questionnaire. After that, the app creates personality graph showing your personality. You can answer up to 100 of the questions in order to get a more accurate reading. The app will also display any personality disorders that the test finds.

• From my first test, it seems pretty accurate

• I couldn’t really find any with this one. No bugs or glitches
• Better social leveraging would be nice. Maybe a display of what the most common personality traits are.

For those of you who don’t believe in astrology and it’s ability to understand, interpret, and organize the movements of celestial bodies, this application will turn you into a believer. You see, this Horoscope Application has a super-secret weapon and he goes by the name, Zanzabar. This mystic prophet, who lives high in the mountains, only comes down every once in a while to share his prophecies with the people at RockYou! who in turn shares the information with users of this application. With the Horoscope application you get updates every-other-day of all the zodiac signs.

RockYou! Horoscopes Pros

• You’re not getting a lame horoscope from the newspaper,but you’re getting it from a freakin’ mystic prophet named Zanzabar who is VERY real, unlike Santa Claus.
• Allows you to see what zodiac sign all your friends are.
• A new feature allows you to choose your own horoscope skin.
• Zanzabar tells it like it is and, not surprisingly, he’s right most of the time.

RockYou! Horoscope Cons

• Zanzabar doesn’t have a satellite yet, so no daily updates yet.
• As much as you would like to question the mystic Zanzabar on some days, you can’t.
• Outsiders are not allowed to contact Zanzabar for any personal astrology information.

The feedback on this application has been kind of eerie. Most people seem to be getting readings that are right on the money, while those who don’t probably just read their horoscope and did the exact opposite to further their anti-Zanzabar mentality. He’s the real deal people, and my advice to you is: listen to what he has to say.

What is the Matches Facebook Application?

The Matches app allows you to notify people on Facebook that you are their secret admirer. The app doesn’t reveal that it is you, it just lets your crush or love interest know that you selected them. If your crush submits a match for you, too, it lets both of you know that you both have both selected each other. It’s a non-confrontational way of hooking up.

• Makes dating a little less nerve racking.

• The app has a big sponsor ad with videos. Pretty annoying.
• Takes the fun out of dating. Man up, son! Tell the girl you’re interested in her in person.

What is the Hot or Not Facebook Application?

Hot or Not is a popular rating site for attractivenss. Users post their pic on the site and people can rate them from 1-10 on their hotness. Well, Hot or Not is on Facebook now. After installing the app, I was asked if I want to submit my pic for ratings. Why the heck not? The next page has the actual rating interface. If you used Hot or Not on the net, you’ll be familiar with the layout. You get to choose if you want to rate men and women, men only, or women only.

The Facebook additions include the ability to go straight to someone’s profile if you see a pic you like. You can also see what rating your Facebook friends have given you and your friends can see what you have rated them. You can also choose to rate people that are just in your networks.

If you opt to be rated on Hot or Not, a box will show up on your profile page which will allow anyone who sees it to score you. You have two options on what your badge looks like.

Hot or Not Pros

• Easy to use
• You can rate any pic you want, not just the one in your profile pic.

Hot or Not Cons

• They’re pretty aggressive about pushing other apps on you. When I first installed the app, I was taken to a page that tried to push other apps on me as well. Also, in while using the app, there are constant ads for different apps.
• Having to surf threw hundreds of pics of people who think they’re attractive but really aren’t.
• The messages boards are just full of people asking to be voted on. If you need validation of your self worth based on your looks by complete strangers, you need to seek help.

If you’re into Hot or Not, then you’ll like this app. I think it’s fun just to see the type of people that submit their pic to it.
