What is the ultimate networking application for people who work online? The answer would have to be Ki Work Bounce. This application allows an individual to create a profile, aka “Ki Offer”, which can help promote who they are and what type of work they can do. Once “Offer” is complete, all information is organized into an easy to ready profile that is then placed on a network where people can see what type of work you are looking for or even let them know that you are hiring.

The important feature of Ki Work, is that your friends can “bounce” your information around their networks as well, ultimately increasing the potential of finding you a job. Another useful feature is the ability to ask people on your network questions. However, I wasn’t able to test out this feature because there was no one on my network. This seems to be the major problem with Ki Work at the moment, as the application and networking won’t be useful until more people add it and use it.

Another interesting feature of the Ki Work application is the ability to create a URL for your offer, which is automatically registered with Google, and can then be posted as an email signature, on blogs or online message boards…again furthering the possibility that individuals looking to hire can see what you have to offer.

Point2 has created a massive neighborhood database with over 50,000 neighborhoods from around the globe listed. The Neighborhoods is easy to use. All you do is select the state, city, and neighborhood you live in. If your neighborhood isn’t listed, you can easily add it to the database. Nice.

You can also add you street name to get more specific. Neighborhoods gives you the option of keeping your location information private, if you’re worried about stalkers coming out after you. After you add your info, you can see who else lives in your area.

• These neighborhood apps still give me the creeps; however, this app makes it easy to hide your location, but still get the benefit of knowing who lives in your area.
•  It would be cool if they displayed the most popular neighborhood or something along those lines

Bookshelf does all of the above with an enormous database of items that you can add to your collection. It even lets you label each item so others will know whether you have it, want it, have tried it, or love it. It lets you know which people on Facebook either have what you want or want what you have, making borrowing from friends much easier. After enough items have been placed on your Bookshelf, the application will also suggest material that you might like, and the suggestions are fairly accurate.

What is the Language Exchange Facebook App?

The goal of the Language Exchange app is to help you learn a foreign language by connecting you with people you can learn with. When you start out, you enter which language you want to learn, how much time you want to spend on learning, and what you current proficiency level is. Language Exchange then connects you with someone in order to teach you the language. Ideally, that other person can teach you another language in return. For example, you want to learn Spanish and someone from Mexico wants to learn English. That would be an awesome match. However, right now the demand for Spanish learners exceed the supply for Spanish teachers.

Which leads me to Language Exchange’s next feature. The app provides a list of the supply and demand for different languages. That way you can see where your services are needed and where you could probably find someone to teach you a language.

After you’ve found a partner, you all get together either in person or by phone/Skype to practice your speaking skills. Pretty cool.

• Not many users. There aren’t enough people using it, so it limits the language you can learn. There also seems to be a dearth of people to TEACH languages.
