What is the ultimate networking application for people who work online? The answer would have to be Ki Work Bounce. This application allows an individual to create a profile, aka “Ki Offer”, which can help promote who they are and what type of work they can do. Once “Offer” is complete, all information is organized into an easy to ready profile that is then placed on a network where people can see what type of work you are looking for or even let them know that you are hiring.

The important feature of Ki Work, is that your friends can “bounce” your information around their networks as well, ultimately increasing the potential of finding you a job. Another useful feature is the ability to ask people on your network questions. However, I wasn’t able to test out this feature because there was no one on my network. This seems to be the major problem with Ki Work at the moment, as the application and networking won’t be useful until more people add it and use it.

Another interesting feature of the Ki Work application is the ability to create a URL for your offer, which is automatically registered with Google, and can then be posted as an email signature, on blogs or online message boards…again furthering the possibility that individuals looking to hire can see what you have to offer.

• Amazing potential to establish professional contacts for online work
• Ability to have an in-depth summary of yourself and your abilities; or a short and concise one that gets right to the point.

Cons

• Would be useful to have better a explanation on how to fill out the Ki Offer

MeVu.com is an amazing site that lets you consolidate your online life in one place. If you’re like most people in this digital age of ours, you’ve probably acquired several online profiles on forums, blogs, social pages, news aggregators, ect. • I couldn’t find any! This app is super simple, but super effective. MeVu should be a definite addition to any Facebook profile.

Probook Facebook Application

What is the Probook Facebook App?

Probook is a simple, but effective professional directory. When I first started playing around with it, it reminded me a lot of LinkedIn. What I like about Probook is that its a professional directory that’s parred down to the bare essentials. After installing the app, you are asked to select which profession you are in and give a brief description of yourself.  Friends and contacts you have made can give you a rating that potential employers could use as a basis for recommendations. They can also leave short feedback messages about you.

• Simple. Some apps are getting way to complicated. It’s nice to see one that values simplicity.
• Leverages social network by allowing you to rank your friends.
• Connect with others in your profession.

Probook Facebook App Cons

• There are few bugs. One that I noticed when I used it was when I was typing in the “About” box, instead of staying in the box, the text continued out of it.
• It would be nice if there were different categories for the rankings that deal with work like “creativity” or “work ethic” or “leadership.” That way employers will have a better view of your strength and weaknesses in these areas.
• Other than that, I couldn’t see any other improvements that could be made this app. Great job!

Dolippe is a unique Facebook application.  What Dolippe does is create a donation badge for your Facebook groups. Say you have a Facebook group in conjunction with your on campus student organization. Instead of having members pay dues in person, you can give them the option of paying their dues through PayPal using Dolippe badge on your club’s Facebook Group page. Dollippe is really easy to use. I Am Green is a cool way to encourage yourself and your friends to be enviornmentaly friendly. You check off the different ways you are being “green” like riding the bus instead of driving a car. For each environmentally friendly thing you do, you grow a “leaf.” The number of leaves you have is your environmental score. You can see what othes are doing to be green and encourage them to keep on keeping on.

What is the Workin’ It! Facebook Application?

Workin’ It!  is a job search engine with over 5 million jobs in their database. Workin’ It! displays a mini resume with education, work experience, and current job status. Potential employers can look through this to see if you would be a good match for them. The neat feature of Workin’ It is the gold star rating system. Your friends and colleagues can rate you depending on your work. The more stars you have the more attractive you’ll be to Workin’ It! employers.

MyLists Facebook Application

What is the MyLists Facebook Application?

MyLists allows users to create any number of lists for whatever purpose- groceries you need to pick up, movies you want to see, high scores for all your games. Any list you can possibly fit within five column spreadsheet can be made. You can also browse and edit your friends lists, as well as share your own. Unfortunately, these lists don’t seem to appear anywhere on your profile, and are instead replaced with an annoying “hello” message.

Lending Club Facebook Application

What is the LendingClub Facebook Application?

LendingClub allows you to give and receive loans from other Facebook users at reasonable interest rates. Rates for peer-to-peer borrowing and lending start at 7.45% APR. Depending on the borrower’s credit history, rates can go up to 11.68%.

When you sign up as either a borrower or lender, LendingClub verifies your identities and bank accounts. If you’re a borrower, you’ll receive a credit check to determine your interest rate. The crappier your history, the higher the rate you’ll receive.

LendingClub Cons

• Can only get a loan if you have a FICO score of 640 or higher. This is a con depending how you look at it. For a lender it’s great, because you can be assured that you don’t have any bum debtors. For a borrower it sucks, because it might take getting a loan from lending club out of the picture.
• Only available for US citizens. Because of different regulations in different countries, LendingClub is only available in the US. However, it looks like it will be open to Canada soon.

BillMonk Facebook Application

What is the BillMonk Facebook App?

BillMonk allows you to easily keep track of shared expenses or IOUs with your friends. BillMonk has a nice clean interface and it’s not confusing at all to use. You choose either to create a new loan, new shared bill, or report a payment. When you create a new shared bill, you can select which friends participated in the bill, how much you paid, and how much your friend has to pay. BillMonk then sends your Facebook friend a message and displays the figures on the canvas page so you can see. BillMonk allows you to tag different payments and make comments about different bills. So, now you can take passive aggressivism to the net.

BillMonk also creates a widget to put on your profile so your friends who are using BillMonk can create new debts, shared bills, or report a payment with you right from your profile.

BillMonk is sort of similar to Buxfer. The only difference I found is that Buxfer also tracks your personal transactions.

• Nice, simple layout
• Very user friendly
• Keep track of loans and shared expenses easily
• Don’t need to have a BillMonk account to use

BillMonk Cons

• It’s one trick pony. It only does bills and shared expenses. I would enjoy using BillMonk’s simple interface to keep track of my personal expenses. However, what BillMonk does, it does well. So, it can be forgiven.
• Doesn’t display who owes you what on your profile. I think showing who owes you money right on Facebook profile for all the world to see would be an awesome motivation for your friends to pay up. Guilt and shame have motivated humanity for centuries. Cruel? Yes, but so is not paying your half of the rent.
