What is the Compass Facebook Application?
The Compass Facebook application was developed by washingtonpost.com. This application allows to show your political leanings on your Facebook profile. After installing the Compass, you take a short 10 question survey that asks you about how you feel on different issues. When you’re done, the app spits out a compass that shows your political leaning. Mine came out as a slightly liberal moderate.
You can see where how your friends lean politically on a cool looking political map.
Compass Pros
- If you don’t know if you’re a liberal or a conservative, the quiz will give you an idea
- Easily show you political beliefs to your friends
Compass Cons
- Do we really need this app? Facebook already allows you to list your political affiliation on your profile. You even have more choices than you do with The Compass.
- It would be cool if it broke down your friends into groups depending on their political leanings. You can maybe have discussions or what not about the issues important to you.
